Old Oakville is located in South-Central Oakville along the shore of Lake Ontario. It is bordered by the Sixteen Mile Creek and Oakville Harbour to the west, Chartwell Road to the east, and Cornwall Road to the north. It is known for its mix of heritage and renovated detached homes, upscale townhomes, estate residences and a small collection of lakefront estates south of Lakeshore. Bronte is located in Southwest Oakville along the shore of Lake Ontario. It is a community centred on Bronte Harbour and includes the Coronation Park district to its east. This community is made up of the Village of Bronte as well as the neighbourhoods that have been developed to the west over the last 30 years. Waterfront properties and locations south of Lakeshore are of tremendous value. Bronte Village is one of the oldest communities in Oakville and was its own Town prior to joining Oakville.

 

 

Eastlake is located in Southeast Oakville along the shore of Lake Ontario. It is bordered on the west by Morrison Creek, to the north by Cornwall Road, and to the east by Mississauga. Eastlake is a mix of small enclaves that are sometimes referred to individually as Chartwell, Maple Grove, Morrision and Ford, which also happen to be the main north south streets that run through this neighbourhood. Iroquois Ridge is located in North East Oakville. The Falgarwood area is located in the southern end of the Iroquois Ridge South community. Known for its advantageous location and its large, well treed lots and positioned just above the QEW, this neighbourhood is central to both south and north Oakville. A mature area defined by its long-term residents, varying housing styles and family friendly, tree lined streets.

 

 

 

Joshua Creek is an upscale, ravine community of luxury homes. One of the many elements residents find appealing is its proximity to Toronto and Mississauga, and easy access to major highways. Many homes in the later phases of Joshua Creek are more contemporary with luxury finishes, while homes from the earlier phases are seeing renovations and upgrades. Ravine lots are very desired and carry a premium.

Glen Abbey is located in West Oakville, with Third Line and Dorval Drive being the major arteries of the community. It is a large area west of the Glen Abbey Golf Course, home of the Canadian Open. Most homes here were built in the 80’s and 90’s, with a few newer builds. Many original houses are now going through the renewal phases as existing homeowners and new buyers make upgrades.

 

 

 

Glenorchy is Oakville’s newest and ever growing community. Located in North Oakville, this neighbourhood offers high-style built homes in a family friendly town-like setting with many neighbourhood parks, village squares, open spaces and neighbourhood retail for added convenience. Much development is still underway with expansion north.

Palermo is located in Northwest Oakville. It is a small community centred on the intersection of Dundas Street and Bronte Road.Bronte Creek Provincial Park borders the neighbourhood to the west and south. Much of the natural landscape; the valleys, ponds and big trees, have been maintained. Young and growing families occupy the large homes with empty nesters and first time home buyers gravitating towards the townhomes.

 

 

 

River Oaks is located in North-Central Oakville. It includes the Oak Park development. River Oaks borders the east side of Sixteen Mile Creek and is centrally located in North Oakville. It is a family oriented neighbourhood with most homes built in the late 90’s or early 00’s. Some more recently built condominiums followed.

Uptown Core is located in North Centre Oakville. It includes the area on either side of Trafalgar Road between Dundas Street and Glenashton Drive. It is a high density neighbourhood defined by modern looking stacked townhomes that provide a comfortable entry point into the Oakville housing market. West Oak Trails is located in North Centre West Oakville on the north side of Upper Middle Road. It is a newer development than the other communities. A family centric neighbourhood with excellent schools, both Public and Catholic primary and secondary schools, as well as French Immersion programs and pre-schools. Plenty of parks and numerous wooded trails.

West Oakville is perfect for young families or right-sizers looking for varying options in south Oakville; townhomes or bungalows surrounded by large trees and lots of green space. Generous lot sizes also attract those looking to build custom south of the QEW. More recently, there has been a surge in development and investment with new custom homes replacing the originals and increasing values. Good proximity to Central Oakville and Lake Ontario, easy access to the QEW and Oakville YMCA.

 









Westmount is one of the newer communities in North Oakville with some parts still under development. Located in the upper west end of town, it is a planned subdivision with access to all of the amenities North Oakville has to offer. The largest detached homes here can be in excess of 4000 sq. ft., with a mix of smaller detached homes, as well as semis and townhomes. As is typical of a newer area, lot sizes are smaller than those in a more mature neighbourhood.
